SortYourHelp (SYH) was founded by two mothers, Alexa Ridley and Alix Darell-Brown, who both required different types of permanent, temporary and emergency domestic Help over the years.

They found that there was no one in the market place who could:

  1. provide a bespoke service;
  2. advise on the best Help available to suit their ever-changing needs;
  3. source the right person for those needs;
  4. provide training for Help.

Knowing how important it is to have the ‘right’ Help, and having had to experience the laborious task of sourcing and training it, they set up SortYourHelp to fill this gap in the market.

Alexa Ridley worked for many years as a lawyer in the City with three small children at home and never found that any agency could find suitable Help for her needs at any particular time. She therefore had to spend her precious family time searching for and training up her own Help – a task she would have gladly given to someone else.

Catherine Kenny joined SortYourHelp as a consultant in April 2012, and became a partner in January 2013. Having juggled a career in management and in-house recruitment with two children and later becoming a stay-at home-mother after her third child was born, Catherine understands the importance of having excellent and totally reliable childcare. She has used live-in and live-out nannies as well as au pairs once she was at home, so understands and is able to advise on the practicalities of each option.

Alix Darell-Brown has stepped down from the day to day running of the business but maintains a non executive role.
